Now that what passes for autumn these days is upon us (still have snap dragons, daisies, pinks, penstemon and geraniums in the garden) I fancied indulging in a bit of summer garden nostalgia. Photos are of my mum's 1940s suburbun garden, a wedding somewhere near Lichfield and our Cambridge backyard.
